“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take a step.” Naeem Callaway
The key to success is to start moving in the direction you want. If you want to improve the PHYSICAL aspects of your life, the worst thing that I have found I have done is to sign up and join a gym. I have done this so many times, who knows how many thousands of dollars I have wasted on gym memberships! My husband can be found saying, "Oh yes, Elaine worksout, she has a gym membership." The British sense of humor can be quote sarcastic!
Save yourself some money and take small baby steps. Decide what you want your ultimate goal to be, and then as Desmond Tutu once wisely said, “there is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.” What he meant by this is that everything in life that seems daunting, overwhelming, and even impossible can be accomplished gradually by taking on just a little at a time.
Some small steps to raise awareness before you take action:
Think about what you like to do for physical activity. You are more likely to do something if you like it.
Remember you don't have to join a gym look through fitness or other magazines for exercises you can do at home.
Check out YouTube - there are plenty of free resources. I found a great yoga video that I like to do.
Once you turn your awareness to action, there are plenty of tools and apps that help you keep track - one is Fitness Pal. Tracking progress provides accountability.
